Disability Services
Working in the Disability Services Sector requires commitment and understanding. We aim to promote a culture of learning for the Disability Sector and the community to create a more inclusive society.
These qualifications provide students with the skills and knowledge to provide training and support to people with disabilities in order to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance and community participation. People working in the Disability Sector change the lives of the people they work with, making this occupation extremely rewarding.

Student Care
Student Care is a challenging and rewarding area in which you will be involved in helping to provide a sense of community and support to children and young people. Many Student Care contexts in which you might work will be the child’s second home and, as such, will require that you provide an environment which is safe, challenging, entertaining and supportive of learning.

Youth Care and Outreach
The primary objective of undertaking training in the Youth Care and Outreach Sector is to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in order for workers to function effectively and confidently in the workplace.
Those who are committed to working in this sector can look forward to an interesting career aimed at improving the lives of young people and their families. Our courses are designed to incorporate the latest information regarding standards of service in the Youth Care and Outreach Sector.

Protection and Rehabilitation
The Protection and Rehabilitation Sector requires dedicated and passionate individuals to make a difference to the lives of countless young people who have experienced hardship.In every society there is a small section of youth and children who are at risk or have had interactions with the law.
To overcome these difficulties, these people need the commitment and dedication of individuals who can assist with services and programmes that can enable them to become self-reliant and empowered. Training in the WSQ Protection and Rehabilitation qualifications will provide you with these skills.

Senior Services
Qualifications at the higher levels in Senior Services covers the competencies allowing experienced staff to reflect advanced practice and greater team management roles. Training at this level is designed for those undertaking or wishing to acquire the skills and knowledge to provide a leadership role.

Training modes available:
Training and Assessment Pathway (TRG) - if you are new to the Community and Social Services (CSS) industry - we have a full range of training for you to achieve your goals
Recognition of Prior Learning Pathway (RPL) - credit can be gained for prior relevant qualifications and experience to put you on an accelerated path to achieving your qualifcation
Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) - for experienced workers with few or no qualifications. Your skills and knowledge relevant to CSS can be directly assessed for credit toward gaining your qualification

Certification
For a full qualification, a Statement of Attainment of the competency units will be provided together with the qualification award.
Payment
Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or by Interbank GIRO.All cheques should be made payable to Box Hill Institute of TAFE.
Payment is required 2 weeks prior to course commencement.
Refunds and Withdrawals
Refunds need to be approved by the Campus Manager (CMS).A refund will only be considered under the following circumstances:
- If the Campus Manager (CMS) cancels a subject or Course after a student has enrolled and prior to the scheduled start date. Fees paid will be refunded in full.
- If a student cancels enrolment in a Competency Unit (CU) or Course before it starts, the Campus Manager (CMS) will refund the tuition fee paid to date, less an administration charge per Competency Unit (CU) cancelled as described in the schedule of fees.
- Applications for refund of fees on compassionate grounds may be made to the Campus Manager (CMS) and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- No refund will be given once a student has commenced training in a Competency Unit (CU).
